Your better off having it installed. It took a mech and me 10 hours. requires picking the engine out 6 inches on the left side and 2 on the right to get the headers in. You will then have to tighten the header bolts while the enigine is up.Everything is a very tight fit. I paid my mech $250, he said he'de never do the install again for anyone. Once the headers are in , it is near impossible to tighten the header bolts. I actually havn't tightened mine in 3 years. trying to find tools that bend to get in there. I know some people have dropped thek-memeber and said it was allot easier. It's not just unbolting some bolts, wish it was that easy. In the long run it's worth the install and the nice sound the LT make.

First time I did a longtube install it took me and a buddy 6 hours. Now we can knock it out in about 3 hours. If you try to do the install without dropping the Kmemberhave your buddy kick you in the ***** because that is how much pain you will be adding to the install. Dropping the Kmember takes 30min tops unless you get rusted bolts.

the best way to do it is drop the k-member we do it with the wheels/struts attached, support the engine with an engine bar and drop it all in one piece if u have a lift, if not drop the k-member with the wheels off, rember to support the engine, its next to impossible with the stock k-member in, if u have a tube k its possible, ive done it a few times with a tube k, its still not fun

yes that is an ideal setting. i am thinking about doing a PI swap this summer and just having the LT put on while doing the swap

to the OP: you don't need to jack that engine out 6 inches if you drop the K member, and that will make your life so much easier. you can def do it in a weekend (even a day) if you want.
