no question hereOPTIMA FTW. you're worried about the mach 1000 system that comes in the premium GT's??lol dude you have nothin to worry about.i have 2 JL 12W6's with a 1000 watt JL amp complimented with Focal mids and highs. my system absoultely fried my stock alternator, but now that i got a optima (yellow top), a 200amp alternator, and a capacitor.. the stang runs just fine.and as1slo85 said, optima batteries are dry cell and much safer.

Consumer Reports and other mags do a battery test and review every year or so. The Optima NEVER comes out in the top 5. Never. It's usually Duralast, Interstate, and Sears Diehard at the top.

I use an Optima in my Cobra, but only because the battery sits on top of the passenger foot box. In case of a crash, don't want to worry about leakage.

I use Duralast in everything else.

I went with the optima also. I read articles about this battery and they always gave the optima high marks over lead batteries and that one of the reasons I went with it. Only the best for my baby! Still, if I could have purchased a battery from the others mentioned that was just as reliable and cheaper I would have went with one of those and saved the $50.

I bought my car with a yellow Duralast.
The car runs.
I'm happy.
