Transmission Technologies Corporation (TTC) Is one of the worlds leading transmission makers. Everything from the 5 speed in an escort to an 18 speed in an over the road tracter. Tremec is their light duty division - making the T5, T45, T56, TKO, T500, T600, etc.
The T45 is a heavier duty version of the T5. Mainly used in the 99 Cobra. But it does have an integral bellhousing like the T56. It can only handle about 325 ft/lbs. Any decent 351W will overpower that easily.
The T56 is a 6 speed that was used in a lot of cars, including the viper. Torque ratings vary from 330-550hp. The viper parts can be hard to come by, they're heavy, and darned expensive.
I'd say you have two choices, neither of them particularly cheap. 1. Tremec TKO. I like the wider ratio of the 500. But the 600 has a higher torque rating. 2. Call Gordon Levy and have him build you a bulletproof T5. It will be smaller and lighter than the TKO.
Don't cheap out. Spend the bux now and get a good quality bulletproof transmission. You don't want to be swapping a tranny at 1AM.
