Well guys the time is drawing near I am about to have enough money to order me a shaker hood, because I have wanted one forever. But I have a SERIOUS concern and I can not get a straight answer from anyone. I have a 99 G.T v8 281 blah blah anyways on my car when I bought it the hood had been changed to a 99 Cobra hood.......Will the shaker hood scoop kit work with that hood I see no reason why it would because the kit say it is for almost all models G.T and V6 that is and ontop of that I think Ford actually ran my style hood on a few later V6 models. What do you guys think please help me..

I dont think it will because the kit comes with a piece that actually lays over top of the cut that we have in our hoods. The Cobra hood actually has like a reversed type of cut, like a heat extractor correct? The GT hood is more of a "intake" style hood and the Cobra is more like a "heat extractor" is what I'm trying to say. The lines in the hood are completly opposite, so I'm gonna say, no it won't work.

BUT I'll trade you my stock 99 hood for your Cobra hood if you would like.

are u lookin to buy the ford mach one shaker system or the classic design system? i have the CD system and what the dude above me said that the plasic piece on the hood sits just right molded into the gt hood. id so sum major research before you burn 800 sum odd bux.

http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa...or/ram-air.htm<-------this is what I want.....and about the hood man it looks like the one you have but the scoop is turned around facing the driver...but it has the exact same shape...Some guys helped me one time on here and posted some pictures for me and they finally found the right one that I had. I believe they told me it was off a 99 Cobra...but there is nothing special really about it at all man.

Yea the black piece that you see actually lays over top of the GT scoop. So with your hood having the scoop basically reversed then I'm pretty sure that it wouldnt work. I'm pretty sure I know the hood your talking about, your right, theres nothing really special about it and I do believe they put it in some v6's in the later years. I'm just tired of my plain old hood, I need something different. Can you post some pics of yours?

Here is my CDC Shaker set up and I love it!!
I just got my Mach 1 hood stripe on it yesterday and it looks killer!
I like the applique because it makes it different then the Mach 1's and unique.
