Save up for a KB, wish I would have instead of wasting money on bolt-ons

4.10's with the price gas is today... smart for a daily driver [X(].

As some already said, "skip the bolt on's" ... every one and their mother has it, and for the $ I would go cam, heads, gears, spray.... etc..

$2K for a s/c? Does someone have a link? I have only seen $3-4K s/c's....

[EDIT] I jumped over the the s/c section and found this link on how to get a s/c for <$2K [8D]

im not against S/C but the cars under warranty for another 35,500 miles and 35.9 months lol. i'd much rather go spray. Keep the DDabilty, make more power for less money. I have no desire to get into 11's and 12's should be a problem with spray. I already got a BBK H-pipe on, now i just need LT's and mufflers. what do you guys rec. for cat-back? i dont want it loud, it already is without the cats.
Also im getting 4.10's, CAI, tb and an SCT. with the SCT you can continuously change your tunes right? and also turn off CEL's? i tried to do it with the ford scan tool, couldnt get it to happen.
before anything else i think ill get the cat-back, gears, then intake and SCT. Then spray.

By continusouly change the tune i mean update parameters myself. Like if i feel the need for a little more fuel i can change pulse widths? i can pull timing/etc, then reflash? or are there set tunes that have to be used?

if you have an h-pipe on with your stock manifolds you arent going to be able to use with your l.t.'s unless you cut it to make it shorter. as for cat-bike, i 1st had flow master, sounds great but the mufflers are heavy and will mess up your rubber hangers, plus they have a tendency to make contact on your drive shaft during hard conering. im now running slp's loud mouth 2. sounds and looks great, plus its a really light weight exhaust. sct are great and you can turn off cel's, but the sniper one allows for alot more tuning than it. as for the plenum, i have an old issue on mm&ff's where dynoed4 different aftermarket ones on a stock engine. all were with in about 1.5 hp or each other. all you pay for is if you wantyours polished and shiny. imrunning a c&l one with a bbk 75mm tb. all i did was hand polish the inside of the plenum to make in really smooth and sprayed it flat black to match the intake.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned suspension...

Here's what to do not including wheels/tires (in this order) if you're not planning on going F/I anytime soon:
1.) K&N drop in, remove silencer
2.) Cat-back
3.) Shocks, struts, springs, CC plates if you want them
4.) Cobra brakes (at least the 13" fronts)
5.) Mid-pipe
6.) TB/Plenum
7.) Pullies, not piggback though.

If you are going F/I:
1.) Cat-back
2.) Suspension stuff above, and brakes
3.) TB/Plenum (if you're getting a centrifugal s/c)
4.) Mid-pipe
5.) Supercharger

Tune as needed.

Don't get pullies if you ever have plans to go supercharged, you'll need to take them back off anyways. And the TB/plenum doens't do much on a n/a motor but it will help a lot more on a s/c car. Down the road get l/t's and a boost pipe if you get a s/c otherwise don't bother.

the H-pipe i put on has a flanged mid section so i think its set up for long tubes. it has a front pipe, flange, then about a 1 1/2 feet of pipe before the muffler flanges. if its not for long tubes then i have no idea why it is the way it is. (confusing?)

im doing the bolt ons anyway. they are inexpensive, and my goal is to have a well behaved DD and spray it. More likely in this order (since i already have H-pipe)
cat-back
long tubes
udp's
4.10's
intake, possibly K&N drop in
throttle body
SCT tuner
spray.

as for suspension i might get 1.5inch lowering springs and rear control arms.

bolt ons arent just for power, i need something to do in my spare time lol
