Default Need a New Intake Manifold

Hey guys... I picked up a '97 Stang GT with the 4.6... long story short after pulling out to pass a car the POS plastic intake manifold split right behind the alternator. Not impressed with Ford on this one! My mother can't even change a tire and she could have told a Ford engineer that a plastic manifold would be a bad idea. Anyway, Ford won't help me out at all, so I have to replace it myself. What do you guys recommend? I'm having a hard time findinga manifoldthat's made to go with EFI. Thanks!

I guess you don't want another plastic one, right off hand I only know one place to get one and here is the link:

if you can afford it get the heads off a 99-04 gt used and get more options for intakes. All else fails you can get another plastic one, i haven't known many people to have a problem with it.

why not just throw on a PI manifold with the aluminum cross over? i picked up 30rwhp and 18 tq just from simply swapping the manifold.

yeah you can make the 99+ aluminum crossover fit on the 98- heads. theres a sticky in the 4.6 section somewhere.

those still have problems too, but less than the plastic crossover ones.

I have the stock intake, and will have PI heads off an 01 gt in about 2 - 3 weeks. Blew the the motor (just one piston is bad), I have a new long block on the way. Motor had 50K on it. Willing to sell heads and intake, or just intake if you're interested.

Try out the Edelbrock EFI Victor Jr. intake. If it works well let us know.

That Victor Jr. looks a lot tougher than the plastic intake. It says they recommend their throttle body but I wonder if the stocker would fit ok till I could upgrade it?
