99 "STEEDA" Mustang gt
So my neighbor has a 99 "steeda" mustang gt, and he's selling it for 9 grand even. It's an automatic which I don't like. But it's got the lowering springs and steeda suspention, BIG fatty tires five point harness seat belts magnaflow exhaust, sounds pretty good.
My question is, how much slower are the automatics in the 1/4 compared to 5 speeds. And is it worth getting that car? The car is PERFECT looks REALLLLLY nice.

They are slower until you tighten up the shift points. You may have that extra drivetrain loss, but you have to take into account the fact that it never misses a gear and shifts faster than 99% of guys in a manual can.

How much do you really dislike the auto? I saw several GT's with autos that were good deals and were bone stock how I wanted them at the time, but I really did not want the auto. If it really bothers you, wait to get the 5 speed.

dont buy based on which tranny is faster....its so close and theres so many variables that its just not worth it...if you like driving a 5spd, then dont buy an auto because you will regret it, but if you prefer an auto, dont buy a 5spd because you think it might be faster....autos can be built to be faster than a 5sp and way more consistent, but you can never make an auto match a 5spd in the fun dept. so pick whichever you prefer, but dont base it on power

This car looks bad *** though. I know auto's are way more consistent, and could be faster if built. I want to pick it up, but i need to do something with my II. No one wants to buy it and it's starting to **** me off.
