Default Catback opinions?

I have a catted BBK X-pipe and BBK LT Headers and I'm looking into getting the Magnaflow catbacks to go with the set up. Good decision? Any opinios? Is this the best set up for me performancewise? Any gains? How loud will this set up be? Although I'm more importantly interested in the performance side rather than how loud it will be.

Thanks in advance!

Well your not gonna get much at all from the performance stand point with any catback so focus on sound. I've heard nothing but good things about Magnaflow, it's gonna be moderatly loud but sound pretty good. Search youtube.com and streetfire.net for some sound clips.

yeah.. magnaflows sound near stock at idle and normal acceleration. however, they come to live under WOT. they sound a lot better than stock when you're really romping on it.

There are truths to both sides of these opinions. I just installed Magnaflow Catbacks on my 96 GT. The idle only sounds ballsy on a cold start, and even then it's only until the fluids warm up and the idle drops. Normal acceleration does have quite an improvement on sound, however when you go wide open it really begins to speak. I was very pleased over all with the outcome.
In the end, yes it is one of the more quiet-idle systems, but wide open sounds excellent.

It was a lot of fun trying to install the system, as the diagram I got from Magnaflow was literally ***-backwards, and we had to wing it and try to install it on our own, but in the end it was a great fit, and looks absolutely stunning. 3.5 inch Pipes sticking out the back, stamped Magnaflow, and set screws that allow me to change how far the boom-tubes protrude.

i've never heard magnapacks in person- but over the net they don't sound so great.
Flows drone.
SLP LM1s sound like trucks.
LMII are too poppy
MAC make low quality stuff
Magnaflow sound too smooth for a muscle car
Pypes have no character

Blah blah blah- The thing is, every catback has a problem.

The BEST IMHO and experience is either MAC or SLP LMII. The only 2 i will ever chose from
