I dont have gears so your words probably closer to fact than mine. Just that i've always shifted at redline while drag racing any car and got my best results that way. Just saying to the OP..got nothing to lose but giving it a try

yea i also noticed i shifted at 5500 instead of 6 like i normally do and i couldnt get past 99 mph for all i tried and when i changed it to 5500 i broke into the 100s
ahah and who told you to shift there!?

My stock 02 5sp gt with just a cat back runs 13.9 shifting right before redline. stock gears
