Default Suspension guys in here

C'mon, I see you guys browsing the forum. It's not like I'm asking a gears/CAI/dyno #'s question.

As of now I have bolt-in suspension:

MM Full Length Subs
UPR Tubular Chromoly Poly Bushing Non-Adjustable UCAs/LCAs
Bilstein Non-Adjustable shocks/struts
Mach 1 Springs

Much of it was put in with the intention of making a solid street car I could take interstate on/off ramps at a rate of speed. Not making a car that will 1.4x in the 60'. Best 60' I've EVER gone in this car was on a set of BFG DR's @ 1.84. If I wanted to improve my 60' would the SSM/UMI lift bars improve them? One of the big things for the F-Body cars I noticed was installing some LCA relocation bracket to increase the angle downwards, which in turn preloaded the axle downwards and helps tremendously for them.

The UMI/SSM lift bar/LCAs I found supposedly do the same thing, but since we use a 4-link, not a 3-link/panhard like the GM guys I wanted to know if it was still a good idea.

EVERY SN95 MUSTANG NEEDS A MAXIMUM MOTORSPORTS PANHARD BAR. In addition to cornering incredibly, you no longer have to worry about the axle torqueing out of square to the body when you launch.

The only reason I am not doing a panhard bar is because i love the way my exhaust tips look. You have to do some fabbing with the exhaust/run dumps dont you with a panhard bar?

I thought lift bars did about the same thing as decent aftermarket LCAs.. Maybe not?? Even then, getting a panhard bar would be a great idea..

I'm almost positive ive read threads about guys running pan hard bars and brand name companies such as magnaflow, slp, bassani catback systems not fitting...

It may be a fitment issue, but you wouldn't really have to toss much.. Worst case scenario, you weld in a new, altered section of pipe to compensate.. If you want the suspension upgrade that badly, you'd make some concessions to make it all work.. Otherwise, why even bother??

oh i totally agree with you. If you are dead set on getting the panhard bar, then what is the big deal of fabbing up a little piece of exhaust work? But im just stating that I dont think the original guy posting knew that there might be some fab work involved on the exhaust.

Gotcha.. I still think the panhard bar is the way to go, unless you go with something bigger like a Watts-Linkage set up.. I don't believe a Watts-Linkage set up is best for drag racing though, more for road course/autoX...
