I think the trans itself is a little notchy. I had the TSB done to mine and it helped big time. Mine shifts smooth now in all gears with my triax.

great.. i should have gotten that done before the tri-ax. they probably won't do that now that i put an aftermarket shifter on will they? i'm taking the car in wednesday for warranty work on my headlights. stupid condensation.

My Tri-Ax works great. That is, after Ford recalled it and beefed up the transmission with beefier parts. I had the same problem shifting to third that everybody has had, and this fix worked. And BTW, the thousand dollar rebuild was on Ford's nickel. I paid nothing.

They didn't say a word about my shifter. The mechanic set up the stops and everything. I think it is up to the dealer though....I have heard some storys about dealers getting funny. The TSB makes it shift great. I haven't missed a gear yet with the Tri-ax.

Before I had the tri-ax installed by the dealer, the tranny mechanic told me that if I had a problem with it in the future that it would be covered by the warranty. I got that in writing. So, yeah, work with your dealer and their mechanics. Bottom line though, is to get that Tremec upgraded at Ford's expense.
