Intake manifold and heads
Well here's the deal. I have a 99GT Vert, very mildly modified. Spec Clutch 4.10's o/r x-pipe flowmaster 40 mufflers and diablo tuned. Its been almost a year since i've been able to do any new mods for it. I feel like its time to stop with the little bolt ons and work on bigger issues. I've heard about the 2valve heads being weak for making serious power as well as the stock plastic intake manifold. I'm looking for any advice on brand/type of intake manifold, and what i can do with stock heads. Thanks for your time, and any advice or opinions are welcomed as well as appreciated. Please just dont state the obvious, LOL I cant do a 4valve swap.

RE: Intake manifold and heads
Is it really worth it though? From everything I've seen on here and a few places, for the power gain on a hardly modified car, it's just not worth it.

RE: Intake manifold and heads
your best bet (if you can do the labor) MIGHT be to take the heads off and get them ported and polished and then get a stage 1 or 2 cam and then the track heat. if you do got P&P make sure you take it to a respectable place

RE: Intake manifold and heads
If you are going for N/A Heads and cams or nothing at all

RE: Intake manifold and heads
What kind of increase in HP will porting and polishing get, then again what will the stage 1 or 2 cams deliver?

RE: Intake manifold and heads
it would be very easy to get an engine from a junk yard and salvage it to the point where i could send those heads out for work. But now that i see the responses, would it be better to go with FI on a 2 valve engine?

RE: Intake manifold and heads
YES

RE: Intake manifold and heads
yea i agree...FI is really the only way to get power out of these 2v's
