wow, just drove by the ford dealer today, they got the 05 saleen sitting in the back, fully loaded, SC, and black...putting out 400hp and 420 tq...they wanted 42,000 for it, i have an 03 gt, i know i might sound stupid asking this, but would it be wise to consider trading cars?...i know its a fast car, but i dont know the backgrounds on saleens

yeah it'd be wise, u'd be one of the first owners of that car in the entire country...but good luck gettin ur hands on it.

saleens are awesome...limited production, high performance car.

i know mine isnt worth that much, 18 if i am lucky, but i would be willing to sell it out of dealer to get more out of it, and then work for the rest, i didnt plan on making any purchases soon, maybe in another year or so

yah, i figured i would to, but i know it has to be fast, its so ****ing loaded, it has seats gauges system sc exhaust everything saleen freaking everything, its a 5 speed and its got a short throw shift kit, it is loaded, 42 grand, thats the window price too, not mentiong doing some sly talking to get em to 40 or maybe 39...but damn, next time im around that dealer, i think its time for a test drive, i love 5 speeds, mine is auto....i got it at a good deal, i want a 5 speed tho

why woould anyone buy the saleen now with 400 horsepower for 42k when you can wait until the end of 06 and get the gt500 with at least 450 hp for 40?

Is it even available? I thought for sure some rich bastard would of had his name on the list for that car a year ago. BTW, I doubt you could talk your way down a couple grand. I think there's a little bit of demand for any 05 mustang.

1) the cars gotta already be sold, because ppl have been ont he list since last august for those.
2) you won't talk em down, because NO dealer will come off a car that has been out less than 2 wks, plus 05's are not everywhere, yet
3) the dealer won't let you test drive it...when a person buys it, they always have less that like 25 miles on it..and thats from transporting on the trucks and lots.
4) It's fast, but not that fast. you're paying for the name, not the performance. It will handle remarkably, and shift and look the same...performance will be awesome (400 hp isn't gonna be anything to whine about), but you're mostly paying for "Saleen."
But then again, if I had the money, i'd pay for "Saleen" as well! lol
