Default muffler advise needed

what is the best flowmaster muffler available..and what should it cost i hear 180 from a muffler shop for one and i thought they where like 100 a piece? stainless steel etc..i have no clue as to the model ..what is the best muffler for a 97gt with a vortech pushing 12 lbs. and a bottle but not using it this year ..looking for the best air flow no bottle neck and nice sound but not to the point where i cannot hear my radio or wife lol hmm that could be a plus i guess on those bad days ..
finally if you know of a better muffler give me your opinion thanks in advance ..roy

i have 2 old 40's if u want them, but i hate flows. if u want agressive and u r set on flows go w/ 10 series one chambers. they are "the best" or loudest u might say. but if u want bang for the buck *wink*wink*go with slp lm1 weld ins and take em to an exhaust shop. had mine installed for 70 bux out the door. refer to link in sig and watch all my mustang vids. but believe me when i say: slp's have to be heard in person to really apreciate. they will make u **** yourself the first time u hear them.

I recently installed the Pypes x-pipe with the Pypes violator cat-back system. They have a great tone when used with the stock catted h-pipe, but when used with the o/r x pipe, it just comes alive. I just love the sound....kinda like theSLP LoudMouth, can't say for sure how much, as I've never heard the SLP in person justfrom video's.The mufflers are a polished straight through type and the whole system is 409 stainless steel w/3.5 inch chrome tips. I got the whole system from blue oval industries on Ebayfor $369.00 plus $69.00 for shipping.

nice ride..i just got rid of some mufflers that where very loud and had to tone it down due to the neighbors old people lol,,at 5 a.m they hate the sound so i put on the stock from off road x pipe using cobra stock all the way to the tips..now i want my old sound back but just not as loud these sound gay..compared like the ***** have been cut off ..i can hear the vortech nice know but ohh well..question when they put the mufflers on they had to drop my rearend and take out the drive shaft to get over the hump they didn't want to cut and weld ..now i hear my u joints making a snap on rev. and when the car downshifts from 40 to 30 or so but not on take off ..just rev.and when driving like 45 and come to a light so i hit the brake it starts to downshift (automatic_trans) and i hear that click sound could it be that ..they should have marked the shaft befor dropping it and putting it back on exactly where it was..or does it make a difference..never did it befor..man it will suck if i have to do the u joints.

so flowmaster dual chamber 40's, if i was to lean towards magna flow or any other brand what would be the difference again they would have to be dual chamber type ..I have an o/r x-pipe and run a supercharger v-s-trim. looking for the best of both worlds ..great sound and little air flow restrictions..I know more air flow= noise so which brand gives you the best?
