I'm running on slicks for the first time this weekend in my stock 03 gt 5spd. I've run 14.03 with street tires.. any advice on how to better my times with slicks?

Thanks

You are going to need alittle more revs to launch the car. Make sure you get them nice and warm before you stage. I hope you can brake stand or have linelock. 4 grand actually sound like a good number to try. I launch my GT at 3 grand with a littel feather and post 2.0 60foots. You might be hunting around for the best rev to drop it though. If you bog off the line more power, if you spin alot less power.4 grand does sound like a good place to start.

if you pull a 2.0 60 ft with slicks you need to go to the FRANK HOLLEY DRIVING SCHOOL *LOL*

launching with slicks is a totally different feeling, You will have to try different rpms and different amounts of throttle in 1st gear to get it right for your car. 4k sounds like a good starting point, jsut see how it works for you. Be sure to heat the tires as per the manufacturers recommendations, some tires like a fat burnout and other will run slower if you burn them too much

I think booging the engine will be more of a problem than tire spin..get you rrrrr's to where the engine bogs just a tad and then go in 100rpm increments up from there until it startes to spin out the hole write all this down after you find all this out start narrowing it down between the 2 point this will help you 60 foot time a ton
