Getting straight pipes tomorrow!

Getting straight pipes tomorrow!
I have stock H with Flowmaster 40 weld-ins and they sound great, but not quite loud enough for me. Owner of local tire and muffler shop suggested simply replacing 40's with pipe and leaving stock H alone (have to anyway due to extended warranty). The ones I have heard on You Tube sound great. I did a search and saw mixed reviews, but I'm keeping my 40's just in case. Opinions?

RE: Getting straight pipes tomorrow!
After talking with my local Ford service manager, I cannot mess with the H pipe due to the extended warranty I got when I bought the car. I have to do cat back only.

Any other suggestions to louden up the car but still sound good with cat back only? I trust the muffler shop guy, he has a very good business and has been doing this for years, he said they sound pretty good with stock H and muffler delete, but I am open to opinions from otherowners.

get an o/r h and swap it if you have to take it in. thats what alot of people do when they have to get there emissions checked. it takes less than an hour to swap out and will sound a hell of alot better than what you want to do. or just go with dumped mufflers

+1. Straight pipes should be outlawed. [:'(]It sounds like $hit. If you want your exhaust louder than get a real exhaust. Weld-in mufflers is a cheap a$$ way to get by. But don't bitch about not having it louder enough when you're too cheap to get a real exhaust. Get an o/r mid pipe and swap it out when taking the car into the shop. A lot of people do that. And you could probably void warranty with straight pipes in some aspects, too.
