Exhaust fell and now thinking of changing mufflers
The title says it all. I was backing into a driveway and there was a single rock that met my drivers side exhaist tip perfectly to push it back and out of its bracket. It now hangs a few inches from the floor. Anyways, after unsuccessful attempts to put it back in the bracket I guess i need a muffler shop. I have a 02 GT convertible that is 100% stock. I want to make the exhaust a SMALL BIT louder, but definately not to the point where i hear it constantly at highway speeds with the top down...So the question is... Is it worth changing the stock mufflers and with what? I am planning on taking the car in tomorrow so responses would be appreciated.

If you want it to be a deeper tone but not too loud go with flowmasters. It wont be to expensive just for the 2 mufflers. 40 series are best. SLP's and Magnaflow are pretty loud even with the stock midpipe.

I'd say the regular Magnaflow catback would be a good coice for you. A tad bit louder but not enough to annoy you. The drone from flowmasters will get old on the highway pretty quick.

I like the sound of my MAC, it's not super quiet, but it reminds you you're driving a V8. It has a nice smooth deep tone and you can get a catback with 3" tips for like $320.

Magnaflows sound right for you.
You're probably going to hear any aftermarket mufflers a little bit on the highway, but there are different degrees of that.
Flowmaster, from EVERYONE i've heard/met/talked to says they're mentally retarded on the highway. As in, they make you go retarded *more so with an uncatted midpipe* but still to some extent even with just mufflers or a catback.

+1 on the Mac. My cat backs are nice. I do want to go full pipes though. 2.5" cat backs are all you need.
btw, its not to hard to fix it yourself. just have to separate the pipes and pull it back into the hanger. should go in pretty easy.

if u do mag packs it will sound like thise but a little quiter because u r keeping stock mid pipe.

Ok. So just to clear things up, i am Only changing the mufflers and leaving everything else stock. They will just cut out the old wones and weld in new ones...I went to the shop today and scheduled for Thursday. The "Muffler Man"at the shop said he suggests the Flowmaster Delta Flows. I told him all that i want is a sound a little bit louder/better than stock. Let me know what you guys think. I drive on the highway A LOT and don't want to get headaches all the time...

He says that the Delta Flows don't have the drone...I don't want any popping or cracks in sound when i let off either. I just do not wanna be sorry when i get these put on and have the wrong sound...
