There's a big differnce in looks between mine and a real Mach 1 hood.

I've now got the Mach 1 decal on mine, those are old pics.
All the Mach 1's had the hood decal.
You can get the OEM hood from any Ford dealer or a reproduction hood from a Mustang supply place and trusty old eBay.

&lt\\;P&gt\\;Lynn,........I got one with the ’03 GT I bought about a month ago. Im not so sure though that a dedicated CAI wouldnt be better however in terms of induction. Ever touch the plastic pipe that runs from the shaker hood to the intake box? Its hot as hell.&lt\\;/P&gt\\;
&lt\\;P&gt\\;Down the road, I may just remove the piping and let the shaker simply cool the engine bay a bit and buy a CAI that actually places the filter in the fender.&lt\\;/P&gt\\;
&lt\\;P&gt\\;Or, at a very minimum, order one of those TrueFlow plastic elbows to replace the stock intake pipe that runs to the throttle body. The black stock one is hideous and cant be effective for air flow from the filter to the throttle body.&lt\\;/P&gt\\;
&lt\\;P&gt\\;IDK..........probably doesnt make a difference from one to the other really............&lt\\;/P&gt\\;

I've never noticed if the tube from the shaker to the air filter box gets hot or not. I'll have to see but I have never noticed anything to aleart me to it being hot when I open the hood.

Looks aside our stock CAI tube is just as good as a aftermarket CAI.
