RE: Drag Radial
People who are suggesting MT probably don't have them on their DAILY DRIVER. It is ****ing stupid to put them on a DD cause yo will buying new tires every 4-5 months.
I'd say run Nittos. I have been using them for years and I dont have a single complaint. I run 1.5 60' at the track and most of the time am unable to break them loose on the street. I buy a new set every year.

RE: Drag Radial
My MT's lasted 2.5 summers, and they've still got tread on them. (roughly 17K miles)
Now they're on spare rims.
Don't drive like a lunatic on the street roasting them away every chance you get and they'll be fine.

RE: Drag Radial
I've been to the track 4? times. And made about 30 passes or so.
Not every one of them included a huge smoke-show type 2nd gear burnout, but I did get em smokey, and a few passes were pretty hard burnouts.
I will be the first to say though, that I babied them on the street. In the 17k-ish miles I had them on the rear of my car, they were spun (on dry pavement ) probably 30 times.
Wet pavements a different story, they liked to kick out.

RE: Drag Radial
WTF do you do burn outs at every stop light? I had my last set of nittos 245s on my car for over a year with lots of trips to the strip. They are now on my wifes car and still running strong.

I'm probably going to get M/T's for the 17's next. Now I barely drive my car so I don't need to worry about it being my DD car. The nittos have done good for me but I don't know if they'll hold my car off the 2-step. I figure that'll be a good tire for my car NA now and I still have the slicks for the bottle. But with the OP's power level, I think the Nittos are plenty, and safer in the rain.
