honestly i have NEVER depressurized a fuel system either, but since your likely doing it on the ground and will not be able to quickly move out of the way of the spraying fuel, it might not be a bad idea... i always have a hoist to do it on at work or a creeper at home so it doesn't matter much, it will however still drip like was said above so try to stay out from under it or you will be stinky.

thats what happened with me, I depressurized it and i got fuel down my arm, but whatever its not like it was the first time nor the last. I wish I had or could afford a lift
