Default 2001 Cobra SVT

I am looking to purchase 2001 Cobra SVT sometime in the next 1-2 yrs.
Are their any problems with them that I should know about? I want to get
the 01 apposed to the 03-04 because I want to strap on some turbos rather than the SC.
I read that the 01's 0-60 was 4.8 and 03' was 4.5 so They arent that far apart either.
Or would someone reccomend I get a GT and get Steeda packages w/turbo. Thanks for any help!

Well if you get a Cobra you are starting off with a better package to put turbos on vs. going with the GT and adding turbos to it. As far as problems to worry about with the 01' cobras I am not sure, but have not heard that many bad thing about them if any bad things at all.

Why would it be better... other than its a 32V? It has the aluminum block, powder cracked rods and hyperutectic pistons. I would get an '03 Cobra if either. They have steel rods, forged piston and a steel crank.

Your better off buying the 03 or 04 Cobra it already has forged internals. So all you have to do is take off the eaton and sell it. Buy a 99 manifold and bolt it on, then you can strap on the TT kit and call it a day. If you buy a 99 cobra your going to have to strip the block if your going to run anything over 10 psi on the junk internals the 99's have. Go with the 03 you end up saving money.

^^^^excellent point on the internals. you could probably find someone to trade their intake from a 99 for yours from an 03 too. so you wouldn't even have to buy it.
