i have a 2000 gt and a lot of times my car will start supplying gas to the engine without me touching the gas. when it is at idle it will jump up to about 1200 rmps and stay there for about 3 secs. It does it when i am driving to. Any ideas....

At idle, that's typical of a car with a not-stock Mass Air Meter? Have you taken a look at yours? Is it a bottle necked piece of crap?

Are you running your heat or AC when this happens?

yea the spike at idle is normal

i am not sure what you mean about the mass air meter: "bottle necked piece of crap". I dont think it would fall into that catagory. I am not running heat or ac.

The stock Mass Air Meter is a horrible catastrophy that Ford let escape their manufacturing plants.

Is yours stock or aftermarket? The idle spike isn't all that abnormal.
