okim in need of a transmission and i found a t-45 from a 99 cobra and i was wonering if it will bolt up and everything to my 96 gt which also has the t-45. is there any problems that i will run into even tho they are the same trani??? thanx guys

yes it will bolt up fine, the only thing is maybe the tailshaft not going on the driveshaft right or something, something is different from the cobras to GT's with the yoke or tailshaft.

hey guys, i was pullin the electronics off the 96 t-45 and putting em onto the 99 t-45 and i notcied everything is the same except the tailshaft, the speedo stuff is different, its a reluctor wheel for the 99 and the 96 has a gear driven one. so nowi need to find out if i can just use the 99 speedo piece and splice it into the wire connector on my car....

Just swap the tail shaft from your 96 T45 on to the Cobra T45. Look at holes for the trans crossmember they are about 2 in reward on the cobra t45[:@]

well i got the tailshaft off and the gears swapped off the old one onto the new one just fine, tailshaft went right on also, but i found a problem, there is a set of 8 teeth that look like a synchro, upon closer inspection and taking off the bellhousing i found that it came off of second gear and it is the teeth that the synchro hub locks into the gear to keep it in gear, well there are 4 sets of these 8 teeth and there is no visible damage on anything else, so im thinking it was a casting flaw and that is why it broke, and yes i considered the option of it just getting raped on lol. but either way with these missing there are still 24 other teeth to hold the hub from spinning so i should be fine. for now haha
