Default About to purchace a 4.6

Ok im looking at buying a 4.6L mustang soon so i have a few questions. Would it be best to buy one that already has upgrades and risk it maybe being dogged out or should i look for a low milage gt and add performance parts? if so what would be some good easy performance upgrades for it? I only know about classics so this is all new to me. Also what year is most disirable and valuable? Also whats insurance like on a gt under 21?
thanks

i would never buy a modded gt, i'd buy a stock one, i don't think there is any desirable year, just find one that you like, and can't help you on insurance because i am 23

$290 a month for me. i have 2 speeding tickets and just off a suspended lincses i went and bought a mustang. and im 19
if you got the money go with a low milage one with no aftermarket and then do it your self.
you prolly want a 99 to 04 becouse stock there rated at more horsepower then the 96-98
and a cobra would be better yet

buying a modded mustang is buying someone else's taste, buy a stock one and make it your own mustang. unless that bi$ch has a P/A excluding NItrous then buy it

Ok. thanks for the tips. Whats the hp diffrence in the years between 99-04? Is the cobra that better as far as heads, cams, ext.... stock and stock hp?
Ive always owned classics so im new. haha
what would be the best upgrades for it? Exhaust, intake, ignition, cold air, chips, that sorta stuff?

I'm 19 and got my license this January. I bought my first car which is my 04 GT and I am paying about $256/month on average with full coverage from progressive.
