I would just keep the Mk8, they are sweet cars and not real hard to make fast. They are kind of heavy but you can do a couple swaps to make them lighter like getting rid of the air suspension system for struts. I know of one on another forum getting 11's with a vortech, it's pretty sweet.

its not the car its only the engine but i plan on porting and polishing the heads, boring it and putting in new pistons, crank, cams rods, pretty much building it from the ground up.

if your going to do that find the timing cover and chain, heads, valve coversand upper and lower intake from a 99 cobra. they will all fit that block. i am in the process of forging the internals of my 95 mark VIII and i plan on finding all that stuffand the supercharger butfrom a 03 04 cobra

baisically exactly what he said^^

the twin port B heads that came on the markViii have intake ports that are too large to maintain good velocity compared to the later tumble port C heads on 99+ 4v modulars

the only time a twin port B head outshines the Tumble ports is at 25+psi boost and high RPM

Will the Mark VIII engione fit the GT automatic tranny?
This maye be a new option if my engine goes shouth some day...

Me personally I would just take the Mark VIII throw a set of Ford racing covers on, cobra intake, headers, and call it a day. That would work for me.

not to hijack this thread.. but when its all said and done
how much you think it would cost?
how much rwhp would it make?
any effect on gas mileage?

also as lynn said would it work w/ a gt auto trans?... my dad tossed the idea of doing a father son project. and maybe threw around the idea of a sleeper. and it would probably take mods alot better too correct??
