Default Spray-on Smoked Color Lens Paint

Has anybody given this "Spray-on Smoked Color Lens Paint" from AM a try? How did it work and how much of a mess was it? Also, how many coats did you end up putting on?

I haven't tried these before but I did buy and install stangmods.com vinyl tints and I am overall very happy with them. I love how they are so adhestive yet easy to remove if I need to adjust them or remove them completely. It's great incase I need to change my mind.

With spray on tints, you have to do it right otherwise you'll mess it all up. I've seen many cars with bad spray on tint jobs and it makes the tail lights look murky. I know there is this guy on ebay that sells tinted taillights for several cars including mustangs. He does a really good job making it very shiny and OEM looking which can especailly be seen with the pics. Look around for it, I think he charges about $100 for them but you get a big discount if you mail him back your stock tail lights.

Is that even legal to tint your lights?(Not that my car is all that legal but no use in attracting any more attention than necessary! LOL!)

well i did the 3rd brake light the first time with 3 coats and then wet sanded and i did it too soon and i peeled it off in chunksbecause i didnt scuff the part first. the second time i wet sanded the part with 2000 grit and put 4 coats and had enough to do 4 coats on both bumper reflectors and that was it. if you wanted to do both tail lights,3rd brake light and reflectors buy 2 cans!!! if you do the brake lights take them off to paint them and let them dry over night. the reflectors i just taped around and covered the bumper and quarter panel with shipping paper(not news paper it will bleed thru and stain the paint) and sprayed when there was no wind. as far as being illegal it depends how many coats you put on. law here states that you have to be able to see the brake lights from 500 feet away.

after you wet sand the part wash in warm soapy water or use a degreaser/wax remover and let air dry.

I used the Nite shades stuff to tint my tails.

Looks good.

Clean the tails good, give em a couple LIGHT coats untill it reaches the darkness you are looking for. Then clear them.
