Default What size fuel injectors?

I have a 97 cobra thats bored 40 over running a vortech blower at 8-9 psi at the momment andforged internals. I am wondering what size injectors will support the hp #s ... i know 42lb support about 500whp on the stock 4.6 but i have no idea what it would be with the bore and blower on it. Also thinking of upping the boost in future.

Stock heads and cams? You won't make 500rwhp on 8psi. But if you are gonna up it for sure, then you could just throw some 60#'s in there.

its a project car for me kinda.. stock heads and cams for now, maybe in the future, if i up the psi then trannsmission and rear end is next upgrades. We are guessing its some were around 450 atm maybe less.. But how far would 42lb go with the bore or dose that make a difference?

Is this a sleeved block? The bore probably isn't gonna do much.

engine bore doesnt 'directly' affect the size of inj. you need. thats based on the hp you plan on making and/or if you have some sort of force induction. definitely go with 60s if you plan on going big on boost. my 42s are maxed out 483whp @8psi. so i need them so i can up some boost too and crack that 500whp mark

PCS... You got cams? How you making that kinda power? Did you dynojet or Mustang dyno for those #'s? I bought a V2 w/10lb pulley for my 97 cobra and everyone is telling me roughly 440-460rwhp no intercooler and 460-490 intercooled. You've only got 8psi on a 2v? WTF?...lol

You have a non sleeved .040 over aluminum block? What head gaskets are you running? I would never go over .030 on a modular block but ok. Bore size means nothing when it comes to picking injector size. Flywheel HP is what you have to look at when picking injectors. I would go with 50lb injectors If I were you if you are only planning to make 500hp. Too big of injector for your application is bad because its actually harder for the ecu to hold the injector open for such small amount of time then it is to hold it open longer. Bigger is not always better and 50lbs would be easy to sell later on when its time to make more power. You will also need an aftermarket MAF and fuel system once your around 500rwhp.

PCS I would like to know what you got to get those numbers with 8psi also.

crower stage III s/c cams. they lope like crazy. and yes im intercool ,most prochargers are. on a dynojet in phx, az (amp performance) in the middle of the summer. temp. was about 92F, so its real street number. i hate when people dyno their cars in an a/c warehouse where its about 70F and get big dyno numbers to make big claims. you always want to replicate the conditions the car is most likely to see on the road to get a more accurate tune.
