All a boost gauge does is measure boost. It is plugged into a vaccuum line. Boost occurs when you are in full throttle, usually around 3500rpm for centrifugal blowers and much lower for roots blowers. A supercharger makes your car faster throughout the rev rangebecause it is forcingmore air into the motor, even if you are not in boost, but it pushes in less air. Hope I cleared it up some

I supercharged my car and made 436hp for less than you can make 320hp... If a car is well maintained, you wont have any problem boosting it at 100k.

Don't know if it's been said yet but I say go with the supercharger and keep the auto. Once you start making big power you'll probably want to keep the auto. I wish I had a auto.

Automatics are usually faster than manual shift transmissions especially if they have a shift kit installed. 100,000 miles is not too many miles for a supercharger if the car has been well maintained. I installeda superchargerat 85,000 andnow have over 100,000 miles on the car. A basic supercharger kit should get you 350 rwhp with no other mods.It is the cheapest dollar per horsepower that you can buy. While it may be 95% sale to install a supercharge on a car there are no gaurantees. Pushing the motor to 350 rwhp will find the hidden flaws in your motor if there are any. I basically saw little change in gas mileage after putting on the supercharger. At the most I went from 23 to 22 mpg.
