Steam coming out of ac vents? What can it be?

Steam coming out of ac vents? What can it be?
Recenty my heater hose was leaking coolant and my car started to become hot. I fixed this my cutting the heater hose back a couple of inches and this fixed it.
Now, after a couple of weeksI have steam coming through my ac vent and the smell of hot coolant. I also hear the sound of a leak. What can I do to stop my car from over heating from this? And any suggenstions of what this could be?
