No, the time for an upgrade was back when I had to replace a cylinder head because it was mashing in plugs.

Right then would have been time for a head/came/intake package.

But, seeing as how I'm going into student teaching in the fall, I won't have nearly as much time to work.

After that, I've got to start saving for my own insurance since I'll be out of school and not on my parents.

And even further down the road, look into moving out and getting married at some point, my gf won't wait forever. (4 years this month)

It just pisses me off that I start saving money, and can look ahead to getting some of this upcoming semester paid off, as well as the 5K or so I have in loans, and then I have to drop 500ish in 2 weeks on repairs.

Another option you could look into, is maybe going to a junkyard, and seeing if they have one of the updated manifold for cheaper... I realize that it sucks, but think about it like this: It could be a lot worse, as was mentioned; the car could have over heated and blown a head gasket...

Iheard if you go to dealer they will reimburse you, the manifolds were recalled, can't remember what year they reinforced manifold so it wouldnt crack as easy....even though it still does, damn plastic parts, how bad can it get...put a plastic manifold on a performance car. Grrrrr......

When I very first bought the car, I recieved something in the mail stating that I could check with Ford
to see if the recall had been performed and that I had X amount of time to do it. However, as I'd
JUST
bought the car and had no idea what it was talking about, I didn't carry through and get the recall
performed.

However, just for ****s and giggles. I think that I am going to go into the Ford dealership here in
Auburn IN
and see what they want to charge me for #1. Parts #2. Labor. If it's more than 300 dollars, I am going
to laugh in their face and ask them why so much.

I figure my intake costs 180, and labor should be 2 hours tops for ME, let alone a certified tech.
