Default CAI Metal or Plastic?

I am in the market for a good cold air intake. I have been told that I needed to get a metal CAI because it allowed cooler air into the engine than a plastic or rubber intake system. I do remember in grade school that metal is a better conducter of heat than plastic or other composite materials. Most of the CAI systems that I see are mostly metal. Is there any logic to my thinking?

Plactic Intakes like the densecharger (www.demolet.com) will keep the air in the intake cooler compared to metal.

Check out the site and click on Specifications and look for the System #5. Its $160. You can also upgrade to the stage two system with a new MAF for an extra $179($339 total)

put it this way, after you have been running your car hard, you pop your hood, which would you rather touch: a metal tube, or a plastic tube

Yeah, go ahead and slap your plenum after driving for 10-15 minutes. It'll make you say HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT real fast.

Then go ahead and grab some plastic tubes (besides radiator) and decide which is hotter LOL

yea next time you have been runing the car hard (redlinning it) just go ahead and get a nice grip on your headers. Youll like that .

Actually i had a problem with my quad, the header pipe woudl go right next to my right leg and i have a scar there from it constantly burning me [:@]. Cause the aftermarket pipe didn't fit a heat sheild
