just got gears and really loud
Well i got gears a couple weeks ago and i broke them in and all but they are REALLY REALLY loud. Fastlane performance told me that if they werent ford racing gears that they might make some noise, but i didn't think that they would make this much noise. I bought some pro 5.0 3.90 and i wanna know if there is anything that i can do to get rid of the clanking when i downshift. they are great gears and people tell me that when they do this that means that i have stronger gears but it is kinda embarasing to have gears that are louder than my exhaust and my exhaust is REALLY loud if you cant tell

Iv'e install'ed manysets of gears for my cars and friends. And never had an issue with noise before. If you take your time and do it right you shouldn't have any problems. Sounds like they may not havetaken the time to install them correctly.

they dont whine but you can hear the clank clank clank when i downshift. and when i speed up you can hear the gears tick a little. will they fix it if there is a problem for free or what. i paid 800 for the gears tune and install and i do not plan on paying that again. i heard that they are the best in houston but whats up?

what is backlash?? and they test drove the car too. they were driving the car when i got there. they said that it was good but my exhaust is really loud and they might not be use to the exhaust and the noise due to it being illegal and the gears are awesome. it dropped like .5 off my time with the tune and i can beat most motorcycles other than 1000s. i can take a c6 corvette like its nothing.

well then i guessi have some backlash. is that good pr bad. can i fix it or what.It has gotten a little quieter since the install but should i return it or what??
