Default Repainting Questions?

So we had a pretty bad storm the couple days. and my car didn't fair so well in got dinged up on the front quarter panel on the passenger side and I noticed today since it finally stopped raining I nice deep scratch running across half my door. Now I thought about having it repainted, and I took it to a paint shop and they said they could repaint it for me and fix all the little dents and dings they would just have to color match and blend it a little they quoted me $300 since my family has used them before. It sounds like I good deal to me I just dont know if I should worry about them blending the paint since its silver and harder to match or if i should try taking it to a Ford dealer.

What makes you think a Ford Dealer can paint your car better that a paint shop? You will be fine going to a paint shop and that sounds like a good price

Good, I was just worried that they wont be able to match the paint as well as Ford could. I just dont want half my car being a different color.

The only reason I could see it being expensive is because I can see that being a hard color to match. I don't care too much about price I just don want half my car looking darker or lighter than the other.

what's your paint code? it looks like YN to me but im color deficient :P... my sixer was a YN and when i had my aftermarket hood painted, it matched perfectly without blending the fenders or anything... i just took it to a local shop. they did a great job

The paint shop should do just as good (if not better) than the dealership. I would do it

It says LT on the the inside of the door. Im hoping they can match the color so I can avoid blending or at least as much as possible.

You can't panel paint a color like that, it almost never matches. That's why they have to blend, even if the tint is justa hair off you'll never notice if they blend into the next panel. I'd say $300 is good, I wouldnt go to ford.

Blending is the correct way to get your car to match. If they just painted the panels without blending it will be noticable as night and day.
