Hard time selecting drag tires or slicks
I know there is a lot threads containging drag rims. Everytime I search it wont search the keyword. So ill just ask it here.
At www.jegs.com When selecting a drag rim say 15X10 then selecting the tire for that rim do I look at the details containg the tire like this:
Tire Compound: L8
Tire Overall Diameter: 27.3'
Average Roll Out/
Circumference: 86'
Tire Tread Width: 8.6'
Tire Section Width: 10.8'
Wheel Diameter: 15'
Spec Wheel Width: 8'
Tire Weight: 22.0 lbs
Suggested Tube
Part Number: 672-9553
Would this tire fit on a 15X10 rim and also inside the wheel well with no problems? Or is this for a 15X8 rim?

RE: Hard time selecting drag tires or slicks
26X11.5X15
that is the tire size you should look into as far as running a 15X10 on your stang. as far as brand, im running MT ET Street drag tires (the ones with the wrinkle walls and the grooves, not the treaded d/r's)

RE: Hard time selecting drag tires or slicks
This is what I have in my shopping cart for now until someone can let me know if these rims and tires will be ok. Please let me know thank you.
15X8 rim
28"x9"x15 slick
15X4 rim
26"x4.5"x15 tire
7/16" wheel spacers
Also do I need to get air valve stems for the rims or would the originals from like pep boys work?

i honestly think 26x11.5x15 for some 15X10s would be a good setup. but i am a tad biased to that lol. although i dont think anyone here running similar setups would disagree. but how much power are you trying to put down with these tires?

Wont the 11.5" be to tall?
Wont the 11.5" be to tall?
26inch is the height of the tire
11.5inch in the width of the tire
15inch is the diameter of the wheel.
the 11.5 doesn't have anything to do with tall.
First off, make your mind up if you want 15x8's or 15x10's. MICKEY THOMPSON SAYS " Acceptable practice for rim width is tread width plus or minus 1'
So in your OP, you have a Tire Tread Width: 8.6'. So An acceptable rim would be 7.5-9.5 inches. If you want that tire, the 15x8 would be great.
