Default Painting Spoiler Flat Black?

Hey guys,

Thinking of painting my spoiler flat black like the mach 1's i have a dark shadow grey stang. what do yall think. i have seen pics of dsg mach ones and it looks pretty good.

Can the paint gurus tell me if im right on the procedure?

1. wet sand 400 grit
2wet sand 600 grit
3. spray on primer.
4.spray on flat black (duplicolor DIY pn DA1605) 2coats? 3 coats?
5.any clearcoat?

Anyone have pics of a flat black spoiler on a DSG GT?

no wet sanding just get some fine 3m scotch brite pads and rough surface with them. then clean area and prep with a tac rag and paint with 2 to 3 coats of good flat black.

it looks pretty nice as long as you have other black accents

A tac rag is used to wipe down your part to be painted and get up particals that a regular rag won't pick up.

If you also do some other black accents then I think it will work. If not, it might look out of place.

if you do it use satin black , not flat. flat black will look like primer.

Thats definately what im going to do. as long as its not real glossy. i have tinted taillights as well as black SS bumper inserts and a 3rd brake light decal so id say i have the accents covered

Might have to throw some black something or another on the front to tie it all in too. Pics would help though
