Default Gas Tank

Does anybody know what would happen if I left a screw in my gas tank for a little while. I am crammed with school for the 6 weeks and don’t have the money to get it taken care of. I was replacing the gasket between the tank and the filler pipe. Got everything done and as I was screwing the last screw, it fell right into the filler pipe. I heard it drop into the tank; the plug in the filler pipe did not hold it.

it may beging to rust and cause problems I guess. You could pull the filler neck from the tank and put a long magnet (the king you use to find dropped screws) and there and pull it out.

Nothing.

The trash that you pump in from the pump at a station is more harmful than that screw ever will be.

The sock on the end of the pump assembly will keep it out out of your pump and prevent any damage but id still get it out if its something that bothers you.
