Default Just back from the strip and now another question

Hello

I got back from the drag strip. I ran a 13.83 at 103 not bad since stock at 14.2 at 96. However here is the question.

My 60ft time isn't improving I am still about a 2.12 to 2.20. I put stickier Kuhmos on the MX's from the Kuhmo Supra 712's. I tried to dump the clutch at 3000 rpm and just got worse, drop tire pressure and launched at 2000 rpm..

So what can I do to improve the 60ft time..

Any ideas let me know..

Thanks

Upper and lower CA's, and some drag radials.

When your launching, dont just dump the clutch. You have to kind of feather it out, if you just dump it then your gonna spin.

Words of a pro!

I'd contribute something useful to this post, but black35th said everything I would've said [&o][:@][8D]

Yea, don't waste your time trying to get street tires to hook. Jump straight to the drag radials.

U can dump it... Just get some slicks. Then dump it at 4500-5000. It will either put a smile on your face or a frown when your rear end breaks.

As for lauching on street tires. I have cut a 2.04 on kumho 245's and that as good as it gets! Either gets some drag radials or slicks because otherwise, unless you have a crazy suspension setup, you won't cut a sub 2.0 on street tires (well good drivers can).

I have looked at lower and upper control arms however does that still work with a lowered car and drag radials I have been thinking about so I guess that I could get into the 1.85-2.00 60 ft times

Yes, they will still work with a lowered car.

Ive cut a couple high 1.9 60fts with 245/45/17 BFG KDWS 25?psi, small burnout, and doing a regular street launch, like from a stop light. Granted those tires are far superior to Kumhos.
