I have a set of the OEM rims that came with the mustang (2000 GT) and i wanted to use them as a set just for drag radials. I wanted to know what size you all recommend to use (widest) on that rim safely,what tire and size? They will be used only for every know and then drags. I have a separate set for my daily use. Thanks in advansed for the input.

I think 275's are the widest you can go with 9" wheels

well you can fit 275's on 9 inch rims thats what i have on my fronts, but stock wheels are 17x8's....

yeah on the rim itself, it has 17X8.3 something. so i was not sure if i could go with 275 40 R17 like the nittos 555 DR's

nitto's run small, so you might be able to fit it, i would upgrade your rims though

no worries about the correction, and i was trying to avoid buying more rims, so that why i was asking to see what i could fit.

try going to discount tires website and choosing the wheel size and then clicking on optional tire sizes. That would tell you the safest sizes you can run.

seriously though man if you are serious about upgrading your car, you are going to eventually need bigger rims, so do what i did, save a lil bit and then buy 315's for the rear on a 17x10.5
