2001 Saleen GT with 40k miles wether or not to put procharger
I have a N/A real 2001 Saleen Gt with 40k miles and want a little more power but i dont really want to spend 5 grand on a supercharger so i was looking on craigslist and found a procharger kit with 3k miles on it and was wondering if there were any things that should be replaced in my engine or if it would be fine and also what the usual lifespan of a supercharger is. thanks

yeah it will be fine with 8-9psi. Procharger would be the only one i would buy other than a kenne bell.this one had 50,000-60,000 miles on ithttp://youtube.com/watch?v=ixvcVnv9xCshttp://youtube.com/watch?v=d6m2oOctsk42002 Mustang GT procharger 8psi intercooled w/powerpipecomp stage 1 cams75mm t/b and plenumgranettelli coils w/ tr6 plugs gap'd at .30O/R H-pipe w/ weld in super 40's60lb injectors and 255lph ford GT pump w/BAPcustom dyno tunedfor e85433rwhp and 406rwtq they last if they are custom tuned to handle the s/c. he bought the s/c for $2,000(42# injectors, powerpipe, and intercooled)and he spend i bet 1000 to 1500 on all the minor bolt ons(he had most the stuff he did bolt on here or there back in the day). i built it for the guy. btw if you get a non intercooled procharger go buy a 31/12/3intercooler and piping on ebay. people have been getting good numbers of those cheapo intercoolers.

yes it will fit. Yea it will put stress on the engine but your engine is strong enough to handle 420-430hp. your rods are the weak point in your engine.

I still think procharger is the way to go if you don't want to spend a ton on a supercharger. I always thought KB was the sickest, but it's alot more expensive too. I got my kit brand new fuel pump, intercooler, injectors, already custom tuned to my exhaust setup, with a 3 yr warranty for 3500, which isn't bad at all.
