i bought a 01 Bullitt 2 months ago that had 93000 mile on it, ive put 4000 on it so far. my question is how many miles should i expect this engine to last and is there anything i should be doing or checking at this mileage. by the way it runs fantastic no niises whatsoever. i bought it because it is a low production number, #93. Any comments would be appreciated thank you.

check your oil on every fill up.

Was the 90k maintenance done? might just be time for that to be done if it wasn't.

check all your fluids, and don't beat the hell out of it if you want it to last.


and Jebus that's a lot of miles on an 01.

i know i kinda backed up and my jaw dropped a lil when i saw 93 on an 01...and uve already put 4k on it in 2 months, where do u drive the thing. My suggestion to you is dont drive it so much!!! LOL save her , and yea get it serviced regularly and all that good stuff

use a good thick oil caz with almost 100k ur seals are farther apart and u need a thick oil..other than that check all ur fluids and take care of her and she should fun way over 100k

i got to tell you this thing runs like a top. other than a few stone chips on the hood and on the side scoops the car is perfect. the original owner seems to have kept up with all the maint. all receipts and log are all filled out and were given to me when i bought it. my original question was really about how many miles do 4.6 engines last? im thinking about changing the clutch its the factory clutch in there now. what clutch do you recomend? i have to admit i am beating on it a little, usually ill blast it once or twice a day, but not quite to the redline. im enjoying the power and torque. it has a BBK off road h-pipe and i just love the sound of this car. another one of my concerns is the timing chain, what do you think about that? is there any way to check to see if it needs to be replaced? thanks

well.. at least you can safely assume a majority of those miles are highway.
