Default Cant get it in!

My engine will not go in to the car! It refuses, im trying to install it with the longtubes on and it jus wont go. I removed the trans still no good, i took off one header and layed it in there and figured i could bolt it in once the engines in, no good! Ive been workn on this thing all night and I need some help. It seems like the steering shaft is in the way and my dad wants to take that out but i think once thats out i wont be able to get that back in if the engine goes in. Any suggestiong????

Have you tried laying the headers loose in the engine compartment and the lowering the motor in?

Yeah you shouldnt even have to take the motor out to install them. The hardest part is the passanger side. If the motor was in you just have to loosen the motor mount and jack that side up and slide it in....
