Ultimately it is up to the claims adjuster assigned to your claim. If they find any reason whatsoever that you purposely caused damage to the motor, they could decline your claim. Just be honest, explain the situation, and they may pay for the damages. They could consider it mechanical wear and tear, and say no. Either way it would be filed under comprehensive.

if they do deside to replace it. what if the shop puts in a 4.6 from a truck. how would i know? and is there any diffance.

yea, the 4.6 from the truck is diffrent.. the manifold and stuff is built for torque and it also makes a lot less power..you'll know immediatley

What are your symptoms that would make you think you have a bent rod. You have to pretty much drive into a lake at high rpms to get enough water in your engine to bend a rod. You more then likely got you maf wet and your computer dumped fuel killing the engine to save it. I have intentionaly sprayed more water into engines then you could driving through a puddle and I did it to make power.

if so....this wouldnt be the first thread ive seen like this. seeing threads like this is also the reason i decided to get rai instead of cai. it tends to rain here at times, too.

in my exploder i drove through a creek 3 feet deep, and it shut my car off, but then i started it and pulled right out.... it does seem crazy that you bent a rod...

how did you come to the conclusion of a bent rod ? does not seem likely but I guess its possible. good luck with it.
