Default I need opinions/help

I just got my first stang. I'm new to this whole modding thing. I'm broke but looking for some upgrades. been looking around and i want the mach 1 grill delete and a CAI if you know one of the online stores with good prices let me know. I want the 3 piece set for the grill delete because every review I have read said that it looks better than the 2 piece. My friend told me to just get a cheap CAI kitand then just go buy a name brand filter, he said it will work just as well. I dont know whether to believe him or not. Any suggestions as to what stores will give good prices on these items as well as any other mods i could do that are pretty cheap. I know some people like the mach 1 chin spoiler but i dont care for it. I also have a questions about getting tuning chips or what not. My friend has one in his automatic 03 gtand i think he said it helps with letting the computer know when to shift (i might just be remembering wrong as well)i have a standard, would i benefit from putting a chip in? any other suggestions are appreciated. The only other car i had was a 2000 Jetta. And not the 1.8t or the vr6, the base model. Didnt feel like putting money into it when my friends all had 8 cylinders. im glad i finally have 8 and loving every second. please let me know what i can do to make it a nicer ride. and if this is in the wrong section tell me where i should post it.

Congrats and Welcome! Best place for parts with A+ service is lethalperformance.com

Are you going to do exhaust? Have you figured out a sound you like?

I bought the car used and i already has some exhaust work done. I dont know the extent. Is there anyway for me to find out? Should the name of the parts be on them and all i have to do is get under the car and look for them? I believe the guy said it had long tube headers(could be wrong). I do know for sure that the tips say flowmaster. I have a video uploaded to cardomain.com of me reving it, http://video.cardomain.com/Clip.aspx...EFED31D3BA217C. The sound i want is for it to be a loud and deep rumble (is this possible). As far away from a ricer sound as possible. What are some good set ups for a loud exhaust. From reading the link that steve gave i know that louder doesnt mean faster.

You my friend need some borla stinger or Magnaflow magnapacks! If there are headers on the car you should be able to pop the hood and see them. Tell us what brand they are. Also If there longtubes you should be able to get on the ground and look like right by the end of your front tire. You will see the collector. Someone correct me if im wrong.

Ibelieve i do see what i think would be a collector after my front tires. I have seen plenty of pictures of headers so i figure i would know them when i see them, but i cant. Watching some videos i kinda like the slp loudmouth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Mf8S...eature=related, i'll watch some more of them as well though.

I would not do the slp lm1's with your car especially if you have lt's & a o/r x. Go for the lm2's if your going to go the slp route.
