Default Problem with going into 3rd gear on a Tremic 3650

Well while I was racing an Ls2 GTO,I went to go slam it into 3rd gear and heard a loud popping noise...so I immediately stopped.

When I went to move the car again it still moved but I noticed when I'm shifting thru the gears normally it takes a lot of effort to put it in any gear and when I'm racing it goes into 2nd and 4th easy but it is giving me alot of resistants going into 3rd! I just cant seem to get it in their quickly anymore.and no one the gears pop back out.

I already checked the clutch cable and quadrant...and their both fine

any ideas why Its being so hard to put into 3rd? thanks for any input

changing a shift fork is prettttty damn involved. Unless you know about tranny's its probably something you won't want to do.

Is this why you should use an aftermarket shifter with stop bolts?

i seem to have problems going into 3rd as well. i think its probably just the long shift from 2nd to 3rd and from 4th to 5th.
