i highly doubt anyone would get over a stage 2 head unless they were tearing into the motor.. obviously with a stage 3 cam PTV may be an issue.. and if you dont have a cam to match.. it may end up detrimental to performance. and stage 3 cams are nasty.. not daily driver friendly

i never understood this debate.. stage 2 heads and cams (mine from the defunct VT engines) and a kenne bell makes enormous power. anything above stage 2 IMO is a waste. even stage 1's with cams and a supercharger makes serious power.

my understanding was that the design of the heads are kinda crappy. So mabye someone will finally step up and actually redesign the head and make it more efficient. With a better flowing head, you could make close to the same power of a ported stock design head i would think.

ive always heard the same about the 4.6 heads.. even the 5.4 but not as bad. the LSx heads are the main reason they make so much power so easily. but i dunno how much you can improve on a bad design such as the 4.6.. ive pretty much accepted it and with an H/C/I combo im pretty happy. stage 2's will make just about anyone happy with a 4.6

SVO heads moved the valves closer to center line so they could unshroud the valves and use larger ones. More then likely that is what the company making new heads will do.

I hope they come out soon. I'm waiting on buying my stage 3 heads (2's are to small) hoping they come out.

like i said in the other post, because of the bore size i doubt anyone will becoming up with a good flowing head anytime soon. another point to throw in is that the 2v 4.6 platform has been around for the better partof 10 years. with all the call for an aftermarket head, if it was possible a company would of done it by now. with all the enthusiast with 96+ mustangs imo a company would benefit financially well by designing this product but it just isnt possible.
