4.6 in a fox

RE: 4.6 in a fox
Mod motors are much more expensive than pushrods. However, they run smoother, last longer and have great power capabilities. There are lots of parts out there and many are interchangeable. Super easy to tune and well worth the added expense. The swap has a few twists and turns but it's much easier than you would think. There should be a number of sites that have pics and instructions if you use a google search. Fast Fords mag. had an article a few months back about a swap. If I had to reccomend one thing, don't get a used 03/04 cobra motor if that's what you are looking at. Get an Aluminator long block assembled engine. Super chaep for what you get and comes with a warranty I believe. Cannot go wrong.

honestly, i never understood putting a mod motor into a fox. you have alot of choices such as the 351, numerous variations of the 5.0, etc. the 4.6 IMO just isnt worth the work especially if its a 2V. 5.0's can me made fast a hell of alot cheaper than a 4.6 and the aftermarket for a 5.0 is pretty big. youll never have an issue finding any part for it. i guess if you want to be "different" and throw a 4.6 in because the majority of people have built 5.0's.. but the novelty of it IMO doesnt offset what its going to cost.

I was thinking 2V for the swap. I know the 2v are real efficient when it comes to gas mileage vs a 5.0 which has allot of parts that i would need to upgrade. Alt, smog pump ect... A stock 2v is much more efficient than a stock 5.0 no matter what way you look at it... Any info you guys have would be much appreciated!

I'm looking at a crashed car on Craigslist. It would have everything... Engine tranny/crossmember gas tank and fuel pump... ect That way everything i need for the swap I can take from this car.
