You are correct about the plate opening fully being the "stop".

MachWon04, you will never break the throttle cable with your foot. That is a steel braided cable and can take alot of tension. The creaking noise you probably heard was your ghetto spacer.

Alright cool Did not think to realize it was likely the spacer. I was most worried about the end popping off the cable but if no one else has broken anything, I'm doing it.

i tried the mod last night with a black rubber hose and zip ties but i didnt want to put faith into it. wen i would press the gas pedali could see the hose flexing and "bunching" up and i was going to use hose clamps but i couldnt get the damn things to tighten enough.

so today im on a search for a little bit stronger hose and better hose clamps any suggestions

i didnt use a hose at all.....just stacked a few zip ties....they have been working fine....they've been on for months with no problems at all..

i've heard of people using all kinds of things for the "hose"...like a little piece of an ink pen...stuff like that.

maybe someone else (that didnt use zip ties) can/will chime in and explain what they used.

LOL I broke a clutch cable with my foot.(it takes skill) Which sucked. I had to drive home without stopping and shifted all the way home without the clutch

From what i've seen the most efficient way is like whatmoko said and to use either "stacked" zip ties or take apart a plastic bic pen and cut it to size. Usually that wont slip either.
