Is it possible to upgrade to dual over -head cams?
I have a 03 mustang Gt and I'm wondering if I can from a single over-head cam to a dual overhead cam. I was told that by itself it doesn't do anything but it gives your car the POTENTIAL to make more power. Since I was considering a supercharger I was told that cobras benefit more due to it being dual over-head cam so I was wondering if there was a way to upgrade.

yes its possible..but youd have to change somuch stuff from electrical sensorsto the computer..youd be better off just finding a junkyard 4v or buying a shortblock altogether. the 4 valves do make more power without the supercharger because they can get more air in and more air out at any given rpm and will respond to mods alot better.

So bottom line is it's not worth it right?

Yes its worth it if you have a donor car/motor no it isnt if youre planning to just drop 4v's on your 2v motor.

Most people do not believe the swap is worth it. Some do and have been very successful. The reason is that a supercharger on a 2v will outperforme most 4v motors. All 4v except the 03/04 terminator have the same cast rods and pistons as the 2v. Because the rods and pistons are the limiting factor, a supercharger on a 4v is limited to the same maximum rwhp as the 2v.
2v<4v
supercharged 2v>4v
supercharged 2v=supercharged 4v
forged supercharged 2v>supercharged 4v
forged supercharged 2v<forged supercharged 4v
