Default Convt Springs

So my boy sold his mustang but he has some extra spring that he got but never got around to installing before he sold it. He said he would sell them to me mad cheap, my only question is they say they are for a hard top, and I have a convertable. Is this really that big of an issue? Can I still put them on and not worry about it being jacked up?
