Removing Spring Isolators?

I was thinking about removing the front spring isolators on my 03 gt to give it a little bit more of a drop. The sheet from ford that came with the springs says its ok to do but will increase ride harshness. If i wrap the spring ends in heavy duty electrical tape to prevent noise, will there be any bad negative side effects from taking out the isolators?

RE: Removing Spring Isolators?

Mine rides a little rougher with no isolators compared to when I had them in on the original install. I am getting some noise from the rear, and am gonna tape those up soon. But as for the front, I got about another 1/2 inch drop when i removed them and dont have any noise.

I never noticed a difference (only have fronts out), have never noticed any real increase in harshness (although im sure it did a little), and no noise- I say go for it!
